Your Care

Rosemary Lodge Care Home. Caring for you every hour of every day

Our Commitment

To provide the highest standard of care and accommodation, taking into careful consideration the needs and wishes of our Residents.

With our 24-hour care, we aim to ensure they maintain their dignity, independence and enjoy a fulfilled quality of life at all times.

Helping You Settle In

We are mindful of the anxieties residents (and families) face when they move home into the unknown world of residential care. From the moment you arrive, we endeavour to help you relax and adjust. We introduce you gently to your new surroundings.

We also encourage you to bring small pieces of furniture and items of sentimental value with you to personalise your room. If your family are present, we suggest you take your time to unpack and arrange your room as you wish together.

As a new resident, you will meet with your dedicated key-carer who has prime responsibility for your well-being and will support you during the settling-in period and beyond.

During the next few days, your ‘Care Plan’ will be discussed with you, family members, and your key-carer as to how best we can assist you with the tasks you find difficult.

As we are not a nursing home, we cannot do everything for you but will assist you to maintain and even develop some of what you were able to do at home.

Nutrition

Our experienced chefs take pride in the delivery of the finest, varied, well-balanced, and delicious food using fresh locally sourced produce and prepared with heart and passion.

Good food is not only about nutrition. Mealtimes also allow for important social contact amongst residents and staff.

All meals are prepared and cooked in our modern, fully-equipped kitchen and generally served in our main dining room, or in-room if preferred.

Menus change daily and of course, we attend to most special dietary requests. Regular review of menus is carried out every three months and residents are included in the future planning. Staff also enjoy a daily cooked meal which allows for valuable feedback to ensure we maintain our consistently high standard.

A great success with all the Residents (and staff) are the daily-baked biscuits served with morning or afternoon tea.

Drinks and snacks are freely available to residents throughout the day and night on request. Given 24-hour notice, and for a modest charge, visitors wishing to stay for lunch are most welcome.

Carers

Our well-trained, dedicated team holds a minimum of the QCF level 2 training award. All are certified to include First Aid, Moving & Handling, Drug Training & Administration, Health & Hygiene, Fire Safety, Bereavement Counselling, Podiatry Care, Risk Infection Control, Dementia and Challenging Behaviour.

Regular supervisions and appraisals are conducted by ourConsultantAuditor of Services together with our Care Manager to ensure staff meet the requirements and standards set out in our Quality Assurance Programme.

Activities & Entertainment

We encourage residents and families to participate in our wide range of activities and entertainment. Among them are Keep-Fit; Reminiscence Programmes; Musical Theatre Groups; Bingo; Crafts; Hat Decorating(Easter); Christmas Parties; Pub Lunch Pantomime and Film Shows. Birthdays especially are celebrated with a party, a freshly baked cake decorated by our Chefs and entertainment by way of music and a sing-a-long.
During the summer months, a minibus will take residents on trips to local amenities, such as a garden centre, tearoom, or the theatre. Wherever we go, either a meal or afternoon tea is included.
