About Us

In October 1990, following the official opening by the Mayor of Lichfield, the first residents moved into what was described as a five-star luxury care home with family values.

Founder & Managing Director

In the late ’80s, while studying Social Care, I began questioning why shouldn’t living in a care home be a well-deserved enjoyable stage of life rather than a place that is limited to God’s waiting room? Shouldn’t it be a time to socialise, active and nurture the spirit in a comfortable lifestyle? Shouldn’t a Resident be cared for as if they were family? The answer to all, was ‘Yes!’ And so, Rosemary Lodge was born and based on these values.

Today more than 30 years later, Rosemary Lodge remains in the same experienced hands. Many elderly ladies and gentlemen have resided happily in our home. It continues to enjoy a hard-earned reputation and is well supported by the local community and medical professionals. Our ethos and our standards remain consistent. Just as we take care of our Residents 24 hours a day, Rosemary Lodge does not stop in its efforts to evolve, improve and maintain its position as a leading luxurious care home.

Registered Care Manager

I found my dream job in 2004 – by sheer chance! I was helping out at Rosemary Lodge as a “Girl Friday” and I immediately knew where I wanted to grow. I started at the bottom and worked my way up – through hard work, gaining hands-on experience, and studying to become a Registered Care Manager.

My years at the Lodge have been wonderful – there is something special in the aura of the home, and the energy and attitude of our team. Our Residents and their families feel it as much as I do. For me, it’s my second home and I am grateful to be the Mom of our happy family here.

Deputy Care Manager

I began in a ’temporary’ role at Rosemary Lodge in January 2006. Our director and myself estimated that my stay might be three weeks!!! On starting, I immediately knew that being a small, independent home, Rosemary Lodge wasn’t anything like the large, multi-operation, one-size-fits-all practice.

The Lodge has a special culture of warmth, friendliness and mutual respect among residents and staff that is felt and appreciated by regular visitors both family and service providers.

No wonder I still work here, Where else could it be bettered?

One thing is certain at Rosemary Lodge –no two days are ever the same. It’s a great choice if you don’t want boring days.

A second thing is it is a friendly family home. This applies to Carers too. We work together to make a difference in the lives of those we care for.

There is little more rewarding than empowering our Residents to enjoy life.

My idea of a good day is finishing work, knowing I have put smiles on faces.

Our Carers

Our well-trained, dedicated team holds a minimum of the QCF level 2 training award. All are certified to include First Aid, Moving & Handling, Drug Training & Administration, Health & Hygiene, Fire Safety, Bereavement Counselling, Podiatry Care, Risk Infection Control, Dementia and Challenging Behaviour.

Regular supervisions and appraisals are conducted by our Consultant Auditor of Services together with our Care Manager to ensure staff meet the requirements and standards set out in our Quality Assurance Programme.

Review from H S (Granddaughter) – March 2020

Rosemary Lodge provides excellent care for my Grandma. They ensure all of her personal care needs are met, her medical needs addressed as required and do so with respect, empathy and patience. The staff interaction with both residents and visitors is wonderful. I feel a huge sense of relief knowing my Grandma is safe and happy.
